Allmende-Kontor is a community garden on Tempelhofer Feld: started in 2011 with ten raised beds on 5,000 square metres, today more than 250 raised beds and over 500 gardeners. The garden is at the same time a point of contact for people who want to join in or start their own garden; the association sits on the working group of the Berlin community garden programme and knows the administrative routes from practice.

Requirements and how to apply

Contact via the garden's shared mailbox. According to the association, free beds are allocated every year in March and April; a prerequisite is attending an information meeting for new gardeners. If you want to start a garden of your own, ask about their experience with finding land, founding an association and lease agreements.

What you should know

The association is an initiative, not an advice centre with consultation hours — response times depend on volunteers. The pages give no phone number and no fixed opening or consultation hours; the board members named in the imprint are not listed here. The address is the association's registered seat at the Nachbarschaftstreff Schillerkiez, not the garden entrance. For formal questions about land, the district street and green space office is responsible.
