Partners

hauptstadt.net is editorially independent. The basic listing is free for every place, and the order in search, lists and on the map depends solely on the chosen filters and sort options (name, relevance, distance, verification date, publication). To keep it that way while still allowing partnerships, fixed rules apply.

What a partnership means

• Partners support the portal financially or with services (for example event cooperations).
• Supporters support the portal without any consideration in the directory, e.g. associations, foundations or programmes.
• Every partnership is labelled wherever the partner appears: with the word “Partner” or “Supporter” and a link to this page – never by colour alone.
• Partnerships have a start and an end date; after the end the label disappears automatically.

What a partnership does not do

• no better position in search, lists or on the map – the sorting never reads partner data;
• no influence on filters, categories or collections;
• no influence on the verification status (“checked by editors”, “confirmed by owner”) and no exception from the listing guidelines;
• no rating, no recommendation and no text that would not be labelled as partner content.

We verify independence technically: ten reference searches return the same order with and without the partner label. We document the result whenever the search logic changes and at least once a year.
