The street and green space office in Treptow-Köpenick is the responsible authority for parks, playgrounds and street trees. Under „Grüner Daumen? Bepflanze deine Baumscheibe!“ the district awards tree-pit sponsorships via an online form or an informal e-mail.

Requirements and how to apply

Prior registration with the office is required. Plants no higher than 50 centimetres, dig no deeper than 10 centimetres. In summer allow around 70 to 100 litres of water per week. A wooden edging 30 to 40 centimetres high is permitted, with at least 50 centimetres clear of the carriageway.
