The route
The Gleisdreieck park, the Flaschenhals park and the green link along the Wannseebahn together form a continuous route across former railway land. 92 per cent of the route is separated from motor traffic and 74 per cent lies in parkland. The surface is asphalt and concrete, the paths are wide and flat.
There are exactly two main-road crossings, both with traffic lights; there is no point without them. Together with playgrounds, seating and a public toilet along the way, the route therefore meets the published children's criteria — set out on this page.
What you should know beforehand
The Südgelände nature park has its own opening hours and a stay-on-the-path rule; parts of the site are not open to bicycles. The Gleisdreieck park is busy on warm evenings.
