Around the Kienberg and along the Wuhle

Just under nine kilometres of loop in the east, around the Kienberg hill and along the Wuhle. Two sets of traffic lights, no crossing without them — and the only family route in the starting set with slight climbs.

The route

The loop starts at Kienberg U-Bahn station, runs through the Kienberg park to the Wuhle pond and on across the Wuhle meadows towards Biesdorf, before returning along the Wuhle bank. 93 per cent of the route is separated from motor traffic and 85 per cent lies in parkland and meadow.

Both main-road crossings have traffic lights. The route meets the published children's criteria except for one: it is not level throughout, because the Kienberg brings slight climbs with it. That is stated here rather than disappearing into a blanket assessment.

What you should know beforehand

The Wuhle meadows stand under water in places after heavy rain, which is why the season is given as March to October.
