The route
The loop stays almost entirely within Volkspark Wuhlheide: paved and gravel park paths, 95 per cent separated from motor traffic, 92 per cent in green space. In parts the route follows the circuit of the park railway and passes the FEZ site.
There is a single main-road crossing, and it has traffic lights. The route is flat, wide enough to ride two abreast and has a playground, seating and a public toilet along the way — so the published children's criteria are met. What that means in detail is set out in full on this page.

The gravel forest paths are soft after rain and through the winter half-year, hence the March to October season. On event days at the FEZ the site is busy.
