The northern Wall Trail from Wilhelmsruh to Hermsdorf

Thirteen and a half kilometres along the northern edge of the city, from the Nordgraben across the Blankenfelde fields to the Tegeler Fließ. Here the signposted Wall Trail is largely a field track with a view, not an urban cycle path.

The route

The route follows the signposted course of the Berlin Wall Trail on its northern section. Behind Wilhelmsruh the city dissolves quickly: Rosenthal, Blankenfelde and the Lübars fields are open landscape, 62 per cent of the length lies in green space and 88 per cent is separated from motor traffic. The surface alternates between asphalt and gravel.

The one main-road crossing without traffic lights lies at the transition between Blankenfelde and Lübars and is listed as a criterion. The finish along the Tegeler Fließ is the most attractive part and at the same time the slowest — the path is narrow there and shared with people walking.

What you should know beforehand

The section is unlit and soft in places after rain; in winter it is only partly rideable, hence the March to October season. Along the Tegeler Fließ, consideration for pedestrians comes before pace.
