From the Plänterwald to the Dahme at Grünau

The route

From Plänterwald S-Bahn station the route first follows the Spree bank past the Insel der Jugend, then crosses the Plänterwald and continues via Baumschulenweg into the Königsheide. The middle section through Adlershof is the most urban part; after that the route follows the Dahme bank to Grünau. 87 per cent of the route is separated and 71 per cent lies in woodland or riverside.

Four sets of traffic lights and one main-road crossing without lights near Adlershof — the latter is listed as a criterion. The route is flat throughout and partly lit, which makes it usable all year, unlike the forest loops.

The Dahme towpath is busy with pedestrians on summer weekends. The gravel sections in the Königsheide are soft after rain.
