- For most of its length the route is structurally separated from motor traffic.
- Where the route runs on the carriageway, a 30 km/h limit or less applies for the most part.
- The on-street sections are side streets without continuous through traffic.
- A substantial part runs through park, riverside or forest paths.

The route
From Volkspark Rehberge the route runs via the Goethepark to Plötzensee and on along the Berlin-Spandau ship canal. Behind the Westhafen the green corridor along Siemensdamm leads into Volkspark Jungfernheide. 91 per cent of the route is separated and 78 per cent lies in parkland or riverside.

What you should know beforehand
The canal towpath between Nordhafen and Westhafen is partly gravel and soft after rain. Both public parks are busy on summer weekends.
