From Spandau old town to Charlottenburg Palace

The route

From Spandau old town the route passes the lock at Ruhleben and then follows the Spree bank eastwards. The riverside section behind the Reuter power station is the calmest part; after that the route follows Tegeler Weg, where sections lie on a classified main road. That point appears as a criterion on this page and is the reason the route is not listed as quiet.

The finish through the Charlottenburg palace gardens is separated and flat again. Eleven sets of traffic lights over ten and a half kilometres, none of them avoidable — but also no crossing where you would have to merge into traffic without lights. The route is rideable all year and fully lit.
