Cycling through Berlin with children is mostly about choosing routes where you can ride side by side and stop calmly. These routes are described with exactly that in mind – and each one states what we based that on.

We do not write “suitable for children”. We list what we checked: whether the route is separated from motor traffic throughout, how many crossings there are, whether it is wide enough to ride side by side, and whether there are places to stop, a playground and a toilet along the way. Where those characteristics are missing, it says “not assessed”. Whether a route suits your child, you know better than we do.
