The SpeicherBallett WA 2.1 residential development at Parkstraße 13 in Berlin-Spandau was designed as a zero-outflow settlement: all precipitation falling on the plot infiltrates into the ground via infiltration basins and soakaway trenches. Mechanical pre-treatment in filter shafts removes pollutants before the water reaches the subsoil. As a result, no runoff reaches the public stormwater sewer. The installations are located on a private residential plot and are not open to the public.
