Balkonwettbewerb Mein Balkon — eine blühende Naturoase

With "Mein Balkon — eine blühende Naturoase" the environment and nature conservation office of Tempelhof-Schöneberg calls for a balcony competition every year. The idea behind it: many small areas together add up to a contribution to biodiversity and to the city climate. The office gives examples such as sunny balconies with lavender, wild flowers and kitchen herbs like thyme and sage, climbing plants, small insect hotels and water bowls. An entry consists of a form asking what makes your own balcony special, a plant list naming at least five species and up to five photographs. Entries go to the office's environmental education address or by post to the office building on Tempelhofer Damm.
