Passing on things in good condition

Short version. The full guide is available in German; source numbers [n] refer to the list below.

Passing on things in good condition. Each place sets its own acceptance rules; hauptstadt.net does not rate charities. The BSR describes several ways: its second-hand department store “NochMall”, an online swap-and-give-away market, a list of charitable collection points, the “Trenntmap” and “Kiezlocker” [1]. The NochMall accepts items in good condition at its store in Reinickendorf and at five recycling centres; it does not accept e.g. mattresses, printers, large appliances, loose cables, baby seats or child car seats [2]. The BSR's list of charities is a service without assessment; for evaluating aid organisations it refers to the DZI [3]. Next step: see collection points in your district under “Pass on”.
