Tierheim Berlin in Falkenberg, at around 16 hectares, is one of the largest animal shelters in Europe and is run by the Tierschutzverein für Berlin und Umgebung. It takes in dogs, cats, small animals, birds and exotic animals from across the city; there is also a farm for so-called livestock, an exotic animal unit and its own veterinary practice. The official collection point for found animals is also located here. You can support the shelter through sponsorships, donations, membership or volunteering, for example as a dog walker.
