Registering a rally or an information stand

Registering a rally or an information stand. This page explains options and cites official sources; it is not legal advice. An open-air assembly in Berlin is notified to the assembly authority of the Berlin Police. According to § 12 VersFG BE, as quoted by the authority, it must be notified “at the latest 48 hours before the invitation” to the assembly, stating place, time, topic and (for marches) the route; it can be filed online via the police Internetwache or with a form [1]. A non-commercial information stand on public streets needs a permit from the district; the Mitte district office lists the required details and conditions (e.g. max. 3 m × 1 m, no fundraising or membership recruitment at the stand) [2].
