Rooms and insurance for volunteers. This page explains options and cites official sources; it is not legal or insurance advice. The State of Berlin has taken out group liability and accident insurance for volunteers active in Berlin; it applies only where no other cover exists, and “initiatives, groups or projects do not have to register separately” [1]. It is meant to protect volunteers in small citizens' initiatives without legal form; accident cover applies subsidiarily also to volunteers in registered organisations [1]. Visitors who are not themselves volunteering are not covered [1]. For meeting rooms, the neighbourhood centres funded by the State can be a first point of contact; each centre sets its own conditions [2].
