Reading age and accompaniment details

For every activity, hauptstadt.net shows which age group it is meant for and whether an adult has to come along. Both details come from the organiser. We publish them as they are stated there and do not add anything.

Age ranges

  • “From 5” means from the child’s fifth birthday. If you search for an activity for a four-year-old, it will not appear.
  • It does appear in the 3–5 age group, because the ranges overlap. The organiser’s exact range is always shown.
  • “For families” is not an age range. We do not turn it into one.

Three levels of accompaniment

  • With an adult: the organiser requires an adult to be present.
  • Unaccompanied: this only appears where a valid supervision rule from the organiser is explicitly documented.
  • Not stated: you will see “Accompaniment: not stated by the organiser – please ask them directly”. If an earlier detail has expired or been withdrawn, it reads “Accompaniment: currently not verified – please ask the organiser.”

“Not stated” does not mean a child can take part alone. Rules vary: the house and pool rules of the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (Berlin’s public pools), for example, only admit children under 8 with a suitable companion aged at least 16.

Registration with the organiser

If registration is required, a link marked as external takes you to the organiser. You register there and can ask any questions. hauptstadt.net does not ask for children’s names, dates of birth or photos. The age you choose in the filter is only used for the search.

Checking this information is not a safety certification.
