How we select
The Family Capital includes places, courses, drop-in groups and events in Berlin that are open to children or families and whose details we can check against a source — usually the provider’s website or an official body.
- Every detail — opening hours, cost, age, registration, accompaniment — comes with a source and review date. Anything the source does not state is left blank.
- “Free” only appears when the source explicitly says taking part is free. Unknown costs never count as free.
- “Rainy day” only shows what takes place fully indoors. We take age information exactly as the organiser gives it: “from 5” does not mean “for 4-year-olds”.
- There are three cases for accompaniment: with an adult, without an adult (only if the organiser explicitly says so) or not stated — then please ask the organiser.
- We check places at least every 90 days, prices, registration and accompaniment rules at least every 30 days and events in the week before they start. Once a detail is due, we stop showing it.
- We collect no data about children; there are no accounts, comments or photo uploads. Registration and booking always happen with the organiser.
The check only confirms the details listed — not supervision, safety or suitability for a particular child. Checking this information is not a safety certification.
