Heat in the city
Short version. The full guide is available in German; source numbers [n] refer to the list below.
“This information does not replace advice from a doctor or therapist.” Heat in the city. All behavioural advice here is quoted from the State of Berlin's heat protection portal; hauptstadt.net makes no health claims of its own. The portal shows current heat warnings from the German Weather Service (DWD) and a “cool places” map [1][2]. Quoted advice includes: “Drink non-alcoholic beverages continuously throughout the day – even if you are not thirsty”, air rooms early in the morning and at night, darken rooms during the day, avoid the midday heat, and “do not leave people or animals in a hot car” [3]. If someone shows signs of heat stroke such as hot dry skin, confusion, cramps or unconsciousness, the portal says to call an emergency doctor immediately [3].
