Understanding planning in your neighbourhood
This page explains options and names sources. It is not legal, funding or energy advice. Whether something applies to your building or contract should be checked with an advice centre or the responsible authority.
Understanding planning in your neighbourhood. hauptstadt.net does not assess plans or call for objections. According to the Senate department for urban development, the public is involved only when a development plan (Bebauungsplan) is drawn up or changed — “you will not always be informed in advance” when something is built nearby [1]. The district usually draws up the plan; the start is published in the Berlin Official Gazette [1]. In the early participation phase the district informs, usually via press and internet, sometimes with events [1]. The draft is then publicly displayed “for one month”, announced at least one week in advance; during this period you can submit comments in writing or orally — on time [1]. Next step: read the Senate page on development plans and participation (link in the German source table).
