Replacing a heating system

This page explains options and names sources. It is not legal, funding or energy advice. Whether something applies to your building or contract should be checked with an advice centre or the responsible authority.

Replacing a heating system. Berlin's heat plan 2026 includes a digital “heat map”: an address search shows which heat supply area an address lies in and which supply types come into question — as “non-binding guidance” that does not replace building-specific planning [1]. For the federal KfW heating subsidy (programme 458), private owners of existing single-family homes are eligible; before applying you need an energy-efficiency expert or a specialist company to issue a confirmation, and a supply contract with a condition precedent or subsequent; the application must be filed before the project starts [2]. Funding amounts are not stated here. Free advice for homeowners is listed by the Senate department [3]. Next step: check your address in the Berlin heat map: https://www.berlin.de/sen/uvk/klimaschutz/waermewende/waermeplan/
